In an interview with Sam Altman, Raza Habib uncovered that in the next year, OpenAI will be primarily working on:

Personally, I’m more interested in what a stateful API could look like because that would fundamentally change and combined with longer context windows could render solutions like what vector databases are offering, less important. At least developers would not need to implement these “stateful” features into their AI apps themselves.

Fascinating to see what will be on the horizon.
