Would you trust an AI to make investment decisions for you? JP Morgan thinks so.

The major US bank is creating its own generative AI ChatGPT-like service that would help select investments for customers. Currently dubbed as IndexGPT, JP Morgan’s new AI tool will feature “cloud computing software using artificial intelligence” for “analyzing and selecting securities tailored to customer needs,” according to the trademark filing.

While details are slim, IndexGPT may prove to be the first of several AI-based products that banks will create as a way to differentiate their products from competitors. We’ll have to see what comes next.
