🥟 Chao-Down #84 Anthropic leapfrogs OpenAI with 10x better Claude, Intel and BCG team up to sell AI to enterprises, Meta announces GenAI playground for advertisers

OpenAI and GPT4 model have some real competition.

Anthropic, a startup founded by ex-OpenAI researchers, just updated their Claude model to support 100k token context windows which is over a 10x improvement to what they could do before. OpenAI’s GPT-4 model, on the other hand, only supports up to 32k tokens.

What does that mean?

With a larger context window, Claude is able to ingest text of over 75,000 words or ~6 hours of audio content and provide a response to a user query in under a minute. Increasing the context window opens up the path to all sorts of applications like being able to understand full financial documents, legal legislation, and pages upon pages of technical documentation.

How will OpenAI respond? We’ll have to see to find out.
