🥟 Chao-Down #68 Google's Bard raises ethical concerns from employees, Snapchat releases My AI chatbot for free, ChatGPT makes health careers more attractive

It looks like Bard’s had a heated rollout even within Google.

A new report from Bloomberg featuring discussions with 18 current and former Google employees paints a rocky picture for the new AI chatbot.

One employee noted how Bard would frequently give users dangerous advice like how to land an airplane (incorrectly). Another said, “Bard is worse than useless: please do not launch.” 

And perhaps most eye-opening was how Bard was pushed through risk evaluation and safety reviews that said the system was not ready for general use.

Google’s certainly feeling the pressure to release product quickly. The question is: at what cost?
