While other countries like Italy and Germany have considered banning OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Japan is taking another stance.
As part of the OpenAI CEO’s tour to drum up support for OpenAI, Sam Altman met with the Japanese Prime Minister to talk all about the risks and benefits of AI. After Monday's meeting, Altman expressed that OpenAI may expand its services and open an office in Japan.
It’s interesting to see countries show varying willingness to adopt new AI technologies. While some might value their citizens privacy and data protection, others have taken a more proactive approach to make sure they can participate in the AI boom.
We’ll have to see how the rest of the world responds.
