How will the government prevent tech monopolies forming around AI?

FTC Chair Lina Khan has vowed to protect competition in the AI market by making sure that startups have a fair shot at developing and capturing market share compared to Big Tech firms.

This might be easier said than done since AI and machine learning dominance is strongly tied to possessing massive amounts of data, supercomputing resources, and access to scarce AI talent. Any one of these would be tough for startups, and having all three is like chasing a unicorn.

We’ll have to see what concrete actions come from the FTC
