🥟 Chao-Down #28: Largest US bank restricts employees from using ChatGPT, Oracle woos AI startups
Plus, an introduction to Data-Centric AI
Employers are taking a stand against ChatGPT.
JPMorgan Chase, the largest U.S. bank, has reportedly restricted ChatGPT among its global workforce, which counts around 250,000 staff members.
Instead of seeing this as the bank’s statement against AI, it is more likely a gesture towards compliance and regulation. The banking industry in particular may be worried that workers send private and sensitive data over to third party AI tech like ChatGPT. Even simply texting on private messaging apps have cost Wall Street firms billions in fines.
Are we going to see more firms adopt this practice? Or will they seek to roll-out their own, in-house versions of generative AI?
