Plus, Google's new AI can interpret brain signals and produce music you like.
Today is a big day for the self-driving industry.
San Francisco is set to be the first US city where driverless cars are able to drive around the city and ferry paying passengers without restriction. This follows a 3-1 vote by the California Public Utilities Commission and gives the greenlight to Waymo and Cruise.
While several of these cars can already be seen roaming the streets of SF, they previously could only operate under certain conditions and could not always charge passengers for rides. This historic decision lifts those conditions completely. This is in face of the protest and call for the industry to slow down from transit authorities and the mayor’s office.
What do you think? Is this a welcome move or should we still apply the brakes to widely deploying the technology?
