Plus, Stability AI and Inflection AI release new foundation models.
In the face of layoffs across the tech sector, one bright spot that is seeing growth in hiring is generative AI.
According to Indeed, Generative AI job postings in the United States grew 20% last month. For every million job listings, there were 204 AI related job postings, which was more than double than the number in 2021.
Also, searches for generative AI jobs have also seen a huge jump, nearing 147 per million in May, compared to virtually zero in 2022. Roles like data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and data engineers all saw huge demand.
It’s a welcome sign after a tough year of job loss, inflation, and broader economic challenges. Let’s hope the optimism continues.
