🥟 Chao-Down #314 OpenAI updates their Assistant API, Adobe and OpenAI are partnering on video generation tools, Influencers seek to build AI chatbot versions of themselves

Plus, a look at how companies are hiring part-time tutors for their AI chatbots to train better language models.

OpenAI just released an update to their Assistants API for building intelligent AI applications using their GPT models.

Some of the highlights include:

  • A new file search tool for knowledge retrieval supporting up to 10,000 files per assistant.

  • New vector store objects for automated file parsing, chunking, and embedding.

  • Token controls to allow maximum input and output tokens per run to manage costs.

  • Better tool choice and function calling support.

These developer tools aim to drive stickiness to the OpenAI ecosystem by providing a lot of infrastructure out-of-the-box so that developers can focus on building the application instead of the plumbing to support it.

It’s a continued motion for OpenAI to become a one-stop-shop for AI.
