🥟 Chao-Down #308 OpenAI, Google, and Mistral release new AI models for developers, Waymo to launch paid robotaxi service in Los Angeles, Google releases new AI chip to rival NVIDIA

It feels like with each day in AI, we get another AI model. This time around we got 3 major ones.

In a whirlwind of AI advancements, yesterday saw a flurry of releases from major players in the field. OpenAI, Google, and the French startup Mistral all unveiled their latest frontier AI models within a span of just 12 hours. The spotlight was on GPT4V, OpenAI’s multimodal system that can process not only text but also images. Meanwhile, Google introduced Gemini Pro 1.5 at their latest Google Cloud event prominently showing off the model’s long-context window. And in an apparent mic-drop moment, Mistral released a torrent file to their latest 8x22B mixture of experts model completely open-source. 

As we start heading into the summer, you can fully expect the race for the latest and greatest in AI to only heat up.
