Plus, an inside look from Vanity Fair on how AI is disrupting Hollywood.

Which models are most egregious in generating copyright content?

In a recent study by Patronus AI, leading AI models, including OpenAI's GPT-4, are frequently generating copyrighted text from popular books. The research, conducted by ex-Meta researchers, tested four prominent AI models (GPT-4, Claude 2.1, Mixtral 8x7B, and Llama2 70B) and found that GPT-4 produced the highest amount of copyrighted content in response to prompts.

This raises concerns about the potential for copyright infringement in the rapidly evolving field of generative AI. The findings come amidst a growing debate over the use of copyrighted material in AI training data and a high-profile lawsuit involving The New York Times and OpenAI.

Will AI model providers be able to fix these issues?
