What does AI look like in everyday life? From booking badminton courts to detecting fake news, Singapore is trying to lead the way in using AI to solve everyday problems.

After launching its first national AI strategy in 2019, the city-state is aiming to foster trust and confidence in AI among individuals, businesses, and communities.

The People’s Association, a government agency that runs community centers, collaborated with a tech agency to develop an AI chatbot that can help residents find free badminton courts in four languages. Singapore also has other AI initiatives, such as the AI Trailblazers project, which seeks to find AI-based solutions to social and environmental challenges.

The country’s embrace of AI reflects its vision to become a smart nation that leverages technology for the benefit of its people.
