My colleague and the executive sponsor of the Semantic Kernel project that I work on recently gave an insightful interview on how to disrupt an incumbent industry.

Sam Schillace, the Deputy CTO at Microsoft, built the startup Writely which eventually became Google Docs and is now front and center in the current AI wave. In the interview, Sam shows that he’s a strong proponent of disruptive innovation, and enjoys a life of embracing failure, taking risks, and finding joy in work. With AI, Sam would argue that we need to find ways to integrate the technology as a fundamental platform and not just dress it as a mere feature.
