🥟 Chao-Down #222 AWS re:Invent announces new generative AI products, GM to cut spending on self-driving unit Cruise after accident, A look back on the one-year anniversary of ChatGPT.

Amazon Web Services is currently in the middle of their re:Invent conference but we’ve already had major announcements come through the wire.

A few of the products that caught my eye:

• Q, an A.I. Chatbot for Companies for $20 per user per month.

• New training and inference chips for generative AI workloads while still re-affirming Amazon’s partnership with NVIDIA on stage

• The general availability of AI Agents in AWS Bedrock and Guardrails for LLMs

• And the very pointed jabs that AWS made to “other cloud providers”

Will these new product offerings continue Amazon’s lead in the cloud? Or is it just a rehashing of what we’ve already seen out of Microsoft and Google?

Time will tell who comes out on top.
