🥟 Chao-Down #218 The OpenAI saga continues, Google Deepmind explores the future of AI music creation, One in five teens say they use ChatGPT for their homework

Just when we thought we finished the binge-watch of the OpenAI drama, it looks like we still have a potential reunion special.

Despite the headlines yesterday that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman were set to join Microsoft to lead an advanced AI research org, apparently Sam and investors still are entertaining the idea of a return to OpenAI provided that the board that ousted him resigns. 

Even CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella is unclear what direction Sam will go but has expressed favor towards either outcome.

One thing that’s true is, a key part of all these negotiations is the reality that the majority of OpenAI staff (some 700+ employees) are willing to quit if changes aren’t made.

It’s a classic situation of having many job offers to choose from and controlling all the leverage. The question is, what will Sam do?
