Yesterday’s earnings from Google and Microsoft highlight how the two tech giants have responded to the AI wave.

Microsoft and Alphabet both beat earnings expectations when they reported yesterday, but the stocks moved in opposite directions - Google fell sharply while Microsoft advanced forward. The divergence really boiled down to the respective company’s cloud businesses and how AI has materially impacted their businesses.

No one would count Google out of this fight, but it looks like today’s winner goes to Microsoft.
