In a sign that the AI funding cycle isn’t slowing down, OpenAI is reportedly in talks to raise new funds at an $80-$90 billion valuation(!) It’s a huge step up from the last round that Microsoft and major VC firms like Sequoia and A16z led that valued the company at $29 billion.

Some people are questioning whether the once non-profit is worth that much mostly pointing out that increased costs and competition will eat away at the current lead that OpenAI has.
