At the end of last week, Elon Musk gave a long demo of Tesla’s full-self-driving in action. It sparked a thread on Twitter around the future of software development and how these models are built.

I asked Elon whether he thought solving self-driving would be solved with one giant model (like what OpenAI is pursuing with AGI) or if it would be a combination of multiple models engineered together. Here’s his reply:
